Dear Customers and Partners,
During these past weeks, we have transitioned to large scale home-working and implemented other measures globally to safeguard the health and safety of our colleagues around the world. We are happy to share that all our offices are fully functional, as well as the CFS stations and with a few exceptions, all transport partners.
We are proud of the teamwork, commitment and support from all staff in this process and, through it, the focus we have on you our customers. These past few weeks have demonstrated that the ‘Heroes of our industry’ are the warehouse and transporters. This staff come to work every day, put on their masks, gloves, shields, and do what it takes to keep us all in business. Safe at home and remote is not an option for them, so we continuously thank them for their dedication, and in living our values. We get it done. We take care. We think ahead. We do the right thing. We work together. We set the standard.
We have developed new programs including redefining our sales and coverage approach to reach more of you in these difficult times, expedited services in the USA, deferred sailing options, warehouse storage in some locations, and continuing to manage every aspect of the value we deliver to you. We continue to offer daily operations updates on the web, up to the minute sailing schedule details, Track and Tracing, as well as quoting, and booking platforms such as Adesso. Please go to vanguardlogistics.com for all these options and many more.
However, while we have sustained a stable level of business over the last few weeks from our efforts, many uncertainties remain. Volumes shipping out of China have recovered and global economies and countries will continue to depend on international shipping in the long-run, but economic lock-down will begin to impact the volume of goods being shipped in the short-term. The extent of this impact, and how quick the recovery will be, are extremely hard to forecast.
The pandemic is a global challenge that, we need to address locally. Each of our countries and regions will have different forms and degrees of change. This may impact us in the form of sailing schedule changes, longer transit due to blank sailings that are being introduced by carriers or in some cases, like India, delays in transportation to and from the ports. Much work, planning, and review of local opportunities continue daily. For now, our sailing schedules remain full and intact, our operations fully available, but we continuously manage our routes and frequency and will keep you advised of any changes needed.
Together, we are thinking ahead, doing the right thing, and will continue to set the standard for ocean shipping.
Yours thankfully,
Onno
